What am I going to do next summer?" eleven year old Greg asked at the end of summer camp. The slight quaver in his voice belied the childlike innocence behind the pre-adolescent bravado.

Being eleven meant Greg, a foster child, would be too old next year to attend the camp had provided a source of hope and belonging since early childhood. This is a question heard all too frequently from older foster children. Sadly, Greg’s future couldn't include any more summer camps. Like other programs and ministries serving foster children, Royal Family Kids' Camp in Arizona is designed specifically for Arizona foster children who are seven to eleven years of age. We believe that RFKC is the very best at what they do, and for more than fifteen years they have served younger foster children in Arizona with excellence, teaching them that there is more to life than what they've seen so far. And they have always had one burdensome challenge - until now.

Hope & A Future, an Arizona 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Click Here for our IRS determination letter), was formed in order to continue affecting the lives of Arizona foster children who have grown beyond the age for which programs like Royal Family Kids' Camp are designed. After years of hearing that familiar, heart breaking question of Greg's, several volunteers from Royal Family Kids' Camp decided to take action. They dedicated themselves to providing a camp for these older children and in 2004 the Hope and & Future vision was born.

Hope & A Future recognizes that children in foster care need compassion for their circumstances that is actively demonstrated through love and encouragement. We provide acceptance to the abandoned and neglected children who have been rejected and offer reliable programs to meet their needs.

In 2006, we realized our goal to provide the FIRST summer camp in Arizona specifically designed for foster children who are twelve to fifteen years old. Hope & A Future's "Teen Reach Adventure Camp" was held at a campground near Payson, Arizona for 27 children. In 2007, we provided a camp for over 70 foster children!

Hope & A Future also sponsors an annual Christmas Celebration for children who have attended Royal Family Kids' Camp and Teen Reach Adventure Camp. We also provide educational scholarships and opportunities to the campers once they turn 18.

Jeremiah 29:11 states "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you Hope and a Future." We believe that God does have a plan for these foster children - a plan of HOPE AND A FUTURE for all of them!
